The next best thing I use anymore for image development to save needs for using a full machine to test imaging is kvm instances on my desktop.
yes, that's a good point. I do my tests with virtualbox on my desktop and only sometimes I use real hardware. Together mit "usessh" I can do profile tests quite fast without rebooting all the time. But I can see the point in the request to test a software section before using it. I talked to the resolver developer and I put that on my TODO to look at it. You can test the second stage of the installation with ayast_setup[1] but for the first stage stuff, there is no other solution than a virtual machine yet. [1] docu on my homepage (http://www.suse.de/~ug/). It's part of autoyast since SUSE Linux 10.3 but not in SLES10. You can copy the client to a SLES10 and it will work there too. -- ciao, Uwe Gansert Uwe Gansert SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Business: http://www.suse.de/~ug -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-autoinstall+help@opensuse.org
