Re: Installation stops anyhow although using the new burned ISO-CD
Hy Andreas,
Which controller are you using?
I tried the Onboard SATA Promise Controller ...
Does it make sense to update the bios version from 1002 to 1004 ? Depends on what's fixed - but I would try it...
My intention is to exclude all possible sources of errors, so I have to update it anyway ... I will try to install with the new Bios and then get back to the list to report ... Regards Francisco

Promise is not a good idea at the moment, at least from my experience. I do have a Seagate SATA connected to a MSI K8T, and it only works flawlessly with the VIA controller (Up to now it ran under WinXP Pro 32Bit, as there was no support for the VIA at all). With windows there were errors, errors, errors. Now, connected to the VIA chip, no problems at all. (I did a BIOS update once, as I have one of the first K8Ts officially shipped here in Germany ;-) ) And: AFAIK there's no module for the Promise up to now :-) Greetings Andy
