Since you brought it up.... :-) I've downloaded and built Mozilla from source, installed it and run ldconfig. When I try to run ./configure for Galeon, it complains that Mozilla isn't installed. Stupid question time, have you run /usr/bin/X11/fetchmsttfonts? If you do that you'll run true-type fonts straight from Microsoft; their sole contribution, albeit unintentional, to Linux. ;-) Also, this is just my opinion, turn antialiasing off. One should note that 7.3 out of the box has b0rken antialias support due to an Apple patent; that can be fixed though; but since I'm running 7.2 I don't remember how offhand.

It says: checking for Mozilla... no configure: error: *** Mozilla is required *** A package for is available here: *** http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla/. Something I hadn't noticed before you made me ;-) copy this: *two* spaces after "Mozilla" on the first *** line, and *two* spaces after "for" on the following *** line. That probably means something.... To answer your other question: the directory is /usr/local/galeon-1.0 (not 1.0.1), and the last entry in the ChangeLog mentions changing the version to 1.0; that entry is dated 23 November 2001. Here is an answer from someone on the galeon list - he is a regular and usually right : "Have him try using --with-mozilla-libs=/usr/local/mozilla/dist/bin "The name is counter-intuitive, but the Mozilla "libs" needed by Nautilus "and Galeon are in "bin". " Well, those libs are not under ..../bin in my system, and I can't imagine why mine would be different just because it is in a sub-directory of /home rather than /usr/local ... but I guess it is worth a try.
