I'm using Xv/Textured Video and the picture is grainy/blocky. It's not too bad but there's room for improvement. Using software rendering, e.g. "mplayer -vo x11 -zoom ..." the picture is much better.
We only support bilinear scaling for Xv at the moment. It's not necessarily worse than mplayer's software scaler, but it's certainly different, and some people perceive it to be worse. Not much to be done until someone implements a better shader scaler, unless there's an actual bug.
Is there anything around the corner that will improve the picture? Maybe any patches I can test?
Nothing at the moment as far as I'm aware. -- Yang Zhao http://yangman.ca -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: radeonhd+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: radeonhd+help@opensuse.org
