My kernel is blackhole# uname -a Linux blackhole.adamant.net 2.4.18-pre9-ac4 #2 ðÔÎ æÅ× 15 08:48:58 EET 2002 i686 unknown
packet patch version is packet-2.4.18-pre7.patch.bz2
The ac patch modifies the elevator_s kernel data structure, so the packet patch needs to be modified accordingly. Maybe this patch helps:
--- linux-2.4.19-pre1-ac1/include/linux/pktcdvd.h.orig Tue Feb 26 18:16:37 2002 +++ linux-2.4.19-pre1-ac1/include/linux/pktcdvd.h Tue Feb 26 18:17:07 2002 @@ -198,6 +198,7 @@ ((elevator_t) { \ 0, /* not used */ \ 0, /* not used */ \ + 0, /* max_bomb_segments */ \ \ pkt_elevator_merge, /* elevator_merge_fn */ \ pkt_elevator_cleanup, \
As a note, linux-2.4.19-pre3-ac1 w/ packet-2.4.19-pre.patch, the above patch, commenting out the current->policy = SCHED_OTHER; and current->nice = -20; lines in kcdrwd, and adding the timeout to GPCMD_FLUSH_CACHE worked fine for me. Ben
