After updating to Leap 42.3, Nvidia leagcy drivers do not compile. There is an error message loading the kernel due to incompatible sources.
In TW, this was resolved by applying patches to Nvidia's source files.
Does anyone on this list know if any patches have to be applied to 340.102 version of the drive to install and load under 42.3?
I cannot use latest drivers as I have an old laptop that does not use newer Nvidia chip. The laptop has 330m chipset.
The log file extract is shown below if that helps:
ERROR: Unable to load the kernel module 'nvidia.ko'. This happens most frequently when this kernel module was built against the wrong or improperly configured kernel sources, with a version of gcc that differs from the one used to build the target kernel, or if a driver such as rivafb, nvidiafb, or nouveau is present and prevents the NVIDIA kernel module from obtaining ownership of the NVIDIA graphics device(s), or no NVIDIA GPU installed in this system is supported by this NVIDIA Linux graphics driver release.
