Does the printer expect authorization via WPA? If so, you may need the wpa_supplicant package. Next, have you tried configuring the connection in YAST (either as a wireless device or as a printer)?
no, it doesn't. It is an option, but one can enter all settings manually, the printer itself is connected to my w-lan, It appears in the list of connected devices on my router. It seems to be opensuse specific, since Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu and derivates showed none of my current problems.
I also tried to set up the printer with YaST. The setup is actually no problem, the communication with the printer is one.
Weird.
Just in case, have a look at Bugzilla – Bug 1012299 intel wireless 3160 - doesnt' work with wicked, but works with network manager https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1012299 -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)
