Hi I have a csv file which imports fine into calc, but when I open by importing it into base, I cannot edit the resultant db. I cannot add records nor fields. All options are greyed out.
I've tried importing it by first saving it as calc and then into base as a spreadsheet but the same result: greyed out everything.
I've tried deleting my libreoffice program and other csv files. I've added the libreoffice repo to my 12.3 install and updated but still greyed out.
Any ideas anyone?
- maybe as root , treat the directory containing relevant files :
chown -R user.root ~/files-directory
&
chmod -R +rwx ~/files-directory
............
best regards
Hi It may be permissions. I have only r (it's a cifs share) on the csv. However even if I download it (it then becomes rw for me) I still get the same greyed out menus. root does not have permission to change the files so I can't try the suggestion.
