Every once in a while I plug in a external USB drive and NTFS-3g tells me that the filesystem was not shutdown cleanly. It recommends having windows clean up the dangling journal entries and do a clean unmount.
I find the process pretty annoying. There is a force mount override, but I don't know how safe or dangerous that is.

FWIW, I've had no issues at all with oS 11.4 and rw access to various sizes / models of Seagate 'Free Agent' external USB drives, either "before" (NTFS) or "after" (ext3, ext4) hth & regards, Carl -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
