rpm -ql python3-idle |grep bin
/usr/bin/idle /usr/lib64/python3.0/idlelib/keybindingDialog.py /usr/lib64/python3.0/idlelib/keybindingDialog.pyc /usr/lib64/python3.0/idlelib/keybindingDialog.pyo
So python3-idle is absent; idle is something entirely different.
No it isn't. The command you ran gave you a listing of all the files in the package python3-idle with the string "bin" in the name. Of those, one is an executable, and it is called "idle"! Like it or not, "idle" is python3-idle
Programs aren't always called exactly the same as the package they're in
Keeps life interesting. Thanks.
