This thread has been dragging on a very long time. 1-You did try with a virgin login (empty home dir), right? 2-No help to login as root? 3-Tried completely removing KDE3 and then reinstalling, both home files and global? I very recently did a fresh install of 11.1 with KDE3. Then I added a KDE3 repo for 11.2; changed the existing repos.d files to 11.2; 'zypper ref'; 'zypper in zypper libzypp rpm perl-Bootloader openSUSE-release wget aria2 curl mkinitrd udev hal dbus-1'; 'zypper dup'. Kcontrol and everything else I've tried works fine. My other 11.1, 11.2 & 11.3 systems run KDE3 OK too. -- "Suppos [sic] a nation in some distant region, should take the Bible for their only law book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited. . . .
