Definitely, but why would you want to be? I know of *no* reason for a symlink to update-alternatives to be in /usr/lib/browser-plugins. Perhaps *you* need the optician

I gather from above that something like "2009-11-15" means, in real English, that it is represents "15 November 2009" - which is (to me was yesterday) :-) .
your point. That time/date would point to the last write time to /usr/lib.
Not a problem, I can see same today - but I didn't see similar last year or when I installed 11.1 (but I wasn't looking for this at that time so don't quote me on this).
