Also, the taskbar re-arranged itself (the clock is all the way to the left, etc) and I do not see a way to move the items. It is "unlocked" but if I drag them they do not move, and if I right click there is no "Move" option. In KDE 3.5 you can right click a taskbar item and there is a "Move" option... not so in KDE 4.
You have to click Configure Desktop or something like that. Very unintuitive. Please file a bug and cc us with the bug number.
Can anyone help before I go back to KDE 3.5 for good?
I am also sticking with KDE 3.5.10 in the meantime.
P.S. (rant): How the hell does KDE 4 get past alpha stage without these **BASIC** options?
I hasn't. KDE 4.0 was just a stable API release, and KDE 4.1 was meant for 'early adopters'. Only KDE 4.2 will be meant for the end user. And while KDE 4.2 really is a decent desktop, this particular issue stays the same. Please file the bug at bugs.kde.org and paste the URL here.
