Hi listmates!
This year is a good year I would say: First, Adobe heard our prayers and offered us a 64bit plugin for Flash.
And now: Sun offers us FINALLY also a 64bit plugin of Java! That's just crazy insane great news for the end of this year. https://jdk6.dev.java.net/6uNea.html
To very bad they were way to late again to have it in our just upcoming 11.1 release... pity.

Hi Dominique,
the u11 will be available via online update too, so u12 is not problem :-)
BTW: I have written a small HOWTO install and setup the u12 JRE in openSUSE system. I had problems with wiki yesterday, so the HOWTO is on pack.suse.cz [1]
I have installed it, (10.3 x86_64 for a few more days), using your howto, but though it shows up in Addons, or about:plugins, it will not work. I can switch back via update-alternatives to ice-tea 1.7 and the test applet will work. Does it need more than the plugin installed into update-alternatives? Does jave or jre also need pointed to the u12 JRE to work? When I try the test applet, I get a popup saying it needs to update the cache every time. Any ideas? Not a big problem, more curiosity to test out the plugin, since ice-tea works (for the most part). TIA for any ideas. -- Joe Morris Registered Linux user 231871 running openSUSE 10.3 x86_64 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
