As of openSuse 10.3 (and I hear 11.0) for software raid you will need to make a small /boot on a non-raid partition. Not sure about 11.1. Not sure how you handle that with multiple installs, I've only set it up with one install in my machine. You have swap on a non-raid partition so you will be able to suspend/resume if needed.

RAID1 can be used for /boot.
I tried setting up RAID1 on 10.3 but it would not boot. I think there is a work around where you manually tell grub where to look, but it was easier to just put /boot on a small non-RAID partition. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
