I try to install on my laptop Aspire 5315 with openSUSE 11.0 madwifi following the instructions of 'First Time User' HOWTO but at make I get 'command not found'. Can some one give me a suggestion how to advance?
Thanks in advance,

Andre,
I thought you had this fixed? To get started, please tell us:
(1) post the output of 'rpm -qa | grep wifi' (2) post the output of 'uname -r' (3) post the output of 'lspci' (4) post the output of 'lsusb -v'
We will go from there.
I had it fixed, but after that I got trouble with the shared key for WAP and with the heath management of my laptop, so I have now a new one.
I started 'First Time User' with removing madwifi 0.9.3.99-118.1 as delivered with 11.0
rpm -qa | grep wifi gave no result uname -r gave 2.6.25.18-0.2
lspci gave 06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR242x

Andre, If you have installed any madwifi rpms already, remove them. Then: (1) Go download/install the madwifi rpms from: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/schmolle1980/openSUSE_11.0/ (2) After the install, start yast and configure the new network device: Under the 'General' tab, 'Divice Control' select 'Enable Device Control for Non-root User Via Kinternet' Under the 'Address' tab, select Dynamic Address Under the 'Hardware' tab, make sure the Module Name is 'ath_pci' Click Next: Operating Mode: Managed Enter your SSID Enter you Authentication Mode, etc.. (3) Next you will simply need to start network manager and add and configure your card. (4) If you run into trouble after that, take a look at: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/linux/howto/madwifi_SuSE_11.0 -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E.
