Adam,
A few days ago there was a discussion about this bug, but I didn't save it and don't recall the resolution there. However, updates using "Yast-Online Update" and "zypper up" work great for security updates.
If you want to update all packages to the latest version, then:
Yast->Software Management->Packages->All Packages->Update if Newer Version Available
and
zypper up -t package
work great.
Thanks for the reply, yea I know YOU and zypper works the only reason I set up the automatice online updates is that I am not always able to get access to the machine (both physically and remotely) and knowing that any security updates that gets released makes me feel better about leaving the machine up. Is this issue in the bugzilla?
? I enabled Automatic Online Updates yesterday and it works fine for me. In /var/log/messages you will see: Jun 27 10:33:01 rennboot /usr/sbin/cron[5943]: (root) CMD (zypper --quiet up -y -t patch --skip-interactive) and as root you will get mails like: The following packages are going to be upgraded: pcre-32bit pcre-devel pcre compiz-kde4 boost-doc boost-devel boost The following NEW patches are going to be installed: pcre compiz-kde4 boost [2K Continue? [YES/no]: yes and the packages will be installed afterwards. (pcre and boost are not yet released, but in the local test queue for 11.0) Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
