Ubuntu is a community only driven project - no company to sue, but Novell is a big company with money to take.. (and well, I guess there are quite a few companies which would like to sue Novell).
Oh you could sue Canonical...
To small target for those that might have interest and better lawyers.
However they could try to get some sort of legal contract with the Frauenhofer Institut (cause most people doesn't care about the legal problems - they want to hear their music..), or at least an agreement that allows them to ship the codecs.
Rather: make users aware of the situation and use free codecs. And those who don't understand are damned to live with the mp crap.
The numbers are against free codecs. The 99% of market suppliers are using mp3 and will not invest money to change without good incentive, like competition using better product + offering cheaper services + too expensive to buy out and include in own offer. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
