Folks, I have a Dell Latitude D830 laptop (Core 2 Duo/nVidia Quadro NVS 140M graphics/2GB RAM/USB but no FireWire) and would like to add a portable webcam to it to provide me with video conferencing ability. I'm looking for recommendations on which webcam I should purchase (doesn't have to be ultra high-resolution, but not low-end either), which works well in a dual-headed Linux (SUSE 10.3) environment. I also need advice regarding what video conferencing SW I should mainly focus on. My immediate need is to conference with a Mac user who's used to using iChat. I have both DSL and cable broadband available, so bandwidth is generally not an issue, though something that also works well at lower speeds would be nice to have. Thanks in advance for any recommendations. I suspect this query may engender a lot of different, "religious" opinions. :-) --ted ================================================================= T E D M A R K O W I T Z Chief Architect, Cognosys LLC http://www.cognosys.net 203-655-2400 (phone/fax) 203-984-6565 (cell) tjm@cognosys.net (email) TJMarkowitz (AIM) ================================================================= -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
