I have downloaded and "installed" firefox beta 3 to my /home/kai/apps/firefox folder.
I have icons set to launch it from there.
Now, I want to enable my existing java/flash plugins. I am assuming I'd need to create some sort of symbolic link. I've googled and am not quite sure what to do (my only reference is someone who did this with ubuntu using apt).
In your home directory in the /.mozilla sub-dir there is plugins directory. This should contain the following-
-r--r--r-- 1 potter users 856 2006-12-16 08:51 flashplayer.xpt -rwxr-xr-x 1 potter users 70352 2006-05-02 21:21 libdragonegg.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 potter users 8119784 2007-12-08 16:46 libflashplayer.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 potter users 83 2008-04-04 22:06 libjavaplugin_oji.so -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0_update15/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so

Apart from the so-s installed by the players (flash, player, etc) there will those which are found in /usr/lib/browser-plugins which you simply copy into the /.mozilla plugins directory. The symlinks which are required you can see above.
And keep in mind that if you do it that way you have to take care of security updating the (not linked) stuff yourself. Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
