It is not so simple. Now I can use Yast and have
excludd ALL repositories and on-line updates.
I have unistalled WINE and double-checked it is gone.
Then I have tried both the downloaded CrossOver 6.2.0
and also the trial version that worked about 3 months
ago.
They both install with no error.
But when I try to install any Windows application then
the error messages pop up (see pictures).
Since CrossOver uses its own Wine I have to infer tha
the problem is on the Crossweaver side. It sounds like
XOver cannot communicate with its own wine
I do hope to hear from the Crossweaver...
Maybe they changed something ...
Thank you,
Maura

My situation could not be worse. I managed to get control of Yast again and disabled ALL repositories. Then I uninstalled WINE and WINE-DEV.
Good.
I uninstalled CrossOver totally (also the bottles). CrossOver 6.2.0 (latest version) worked with SuSE10.3 at the beginning. I started to have a lot of problems when I enabled the on-line automatic upgrades. Therefore I meant to reinstall WINE from SuSE10.3 DVD and then CrossOver starting from a clean configuration. When I reinstalled WINE I realized it must be downloaded from somewhere anyway because the DVD was not accessed.
Don't install wine!
Then I reinstalled CrossOver 6.2.0 successfully. But the pain started when I tried to install any Windows application (see attached pictures). I tried CrossOver Installer and also tried to download its rpm file and installed it through rpm command. The result is the same! I also tried to install CrossOver 5.3.0 as it worked fine with SuSE9,3 ON THE SAME COMPUTER SYSTEM. But again it won't install ant Window application.
For some reason CrossOver seems to be unable to hook up with WINE ???? <snip>
Why do you think you need to install wine? I *do not* have wine installed and run CO 6.2.0 without any problems. Perhaps you are creating a problem by installing wine.
