Did you install libsigc++2-devel?
Not "-devel"; should I have? In any case the installation seems to have gone without a hitch, and the program does load without complaint. What would the "-devel" version have done for me?
Well, if you are to compile something, and the configure complains that some library is not installed, and you know it is, then 99% of the occasions it is looking for the -devel rpm. The compilation needs the files in there. Sometimes it will compile without "whatever-devel", with some missed features (those provided by "whatever"), and some times it will not compile at all.
I have to thank you for cluing me to this webpin utility. I had never heard of it; I doubt that I would ever have found it, left to my own devices, and I certainly would not have thought to search for it.
The list was full of comments about it when the author designed it. Now it is "common knowledge", more or less - but if you cam to the list recently you may not have known it. :-) Actually, I think there are two of such utilities: one hosted at opensuse.org, and the other at opensuse-community.org. The second lists external repos.
Incidentally, of the two repositories that it turned up for this search, only one of them actually has it. The directory on the other one (the one with the latest stable release) is totally empty. But totally.
Well, those were "home" repos, the authors may change things there often, dunno. It is not easy to know what is where and who makes what. Also, I don't know how often that list is refreshed.
It's late now, past 0100, and I'm going to call it a day. Tomorrow I'll configure it and try to exercise it a bit.
Right, good luck :-) - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
