Nvidia's 8500GT is fully supported, compiz works good. It doesn't show up in /etc/X11/xgl-hardware-list though. The whole series doesn't, not even as "unknown".
Could you make an enhancement request on http://bugzilla.novell.com please.
Oops, you got me there. In the process of creating a Novell login I've read through http://www.novell.com/company/policies/privacy/ which I personally will not accept. The spam opt-outs mentioned seem to be fine although imho they should come up earlier in the process. The potential wide-spread of personal data ("Personal information collected on Novell sites and services may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Novell or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using a Novell site or service, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.") is not. I hope this doesn't come out wrong. I'd very much like to see another, less privacy-intrusive mechanism for bug-reporting. Wrt 8500gt, here's lspci -v 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce 8500 GT (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA]) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Well, you had 2 if you read down this far :) Thank you, Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
