I have an old Sony Vaio laptop with OpenSuse 10.2 installed. It is in good working order, no hardware problems. When I try to upgrade it to 10.3, the installer hangs very early on. The system boots from DVD, I select "installation", it asks me for language, I select English (UK), then media check - it passes. When I click "next", I get the "wait" cursor, but nothing happens. The DVD light comes up for a short time, but there is no hard drive activity, and the installer just sits there forever doing nothing. The DVD is fine - it passes media check, and I used it previously to install 10.3 on another machine. The laptop itself is running 10.2, which I installed without problems a year ago. I saw something similar in the past on a system where there was some partitioning problem, but it does not appear to be the case here, the best I can tell - everything seems to be booting and functioning normally, and I don't see anything suspicions when I run fdisk -l (granted, I don't know awfully much about partitioning). What can I do to debug this? Myrosia -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
