Listmates,
I am trying to determine why compiz will not autostart. Manual start with fusion-icon is required and works fine. One thing I did notice while removing compiz last time with: <snip>
I'm way late on this thread. Anyways, did you do ALT-F2 and run "compiz -replace". (minus the quotes) This makes it autostart here with Kubuntu. About 4 desktops, you can also increase those if you run the CompizConfig Settings Manager and go to General Options -> Desktop Size and change the Horizontal Virtual Size to say 6 or 8. I have mine set at 6, which gives me a 6 sided cube. Also, if you run KDE you have to go into your Configure Desktop -> Multiple Desktops and change it to 1. I don't know if this is required in Gnome or not. Also, a real good resource of information is available on the Compiz forums. http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/ (although I'm sure you've found those by now. ;) Dana -- A mind is like a parachute.
