First of all, thanks for your answer.
My ati card is a Radeon X300 Series. Kernel 2.6.23.1. When I try to open
You would need 10.3 stock kernel 2.6.22.
After yast, my kernel is 2.6.22.9. Is this right or it must be the shipped kernel with suse 10.3?
ATI Catalyst Control Center, it says that ati driver is not installed, or not well configured. I've done every explanation in http://dev.compiz-fusion.org/~cyberorg/2007/10/24/ati-8433-on-opensuse-the-h... but I'm not satisfied with the results. I've deleted compiz-icon, because it completely freezed X (windows refresh was about several minutes). So, my question is: what is left in order to get a right XGL? Am I doing something wrong? Is 8.41 driver better than this new one? Is it necessary to have installed and execute compiz-fusion icon?
You need 8.40 drivers as mentioned on the blog and activate xgl. Remove ati repo and then use ati-legacy.ymp.
I've got 8.40 now, but it's apparently the same. I 've never got a good XGL Desktop. It appears a "different" desktop, with shadows around windows, cairo clock I use is not rounded with the black square if not 3D activated... but only that. Beryl or Aquamarine is imposible to work... or Beryl is not possible to run with ati propietary driver?? As you see, the mess I have is really great! I admit! There's no way at all. Have I to change my ATI card for another new one? Bye and thanks again. AOP.
Cheers
