Kmail with KWallet has no problems. I just checked with 'netstat -ct' and it calls mail server after it get mail account password from KWallet. That prevents timeout.
Can you do the same with Thunderbird?
I don't think Thunderbird can use KWwalet. The real problem is that when it thinks there is a problem with the password - some of the servers give confusing error messages that may make the client think there is a password problem - it doesn't give us the option to try again or cancel without changing the password. I simply deletes the old pass asks for it. And from another lister's email we know that firefox does similar things. -- Cheers, Carlos E. R.
