I picked up the samsung sh-182 and it works quite well. Burns a lot faster than the older ones I had.

How is the label burning speed? Low-res versus medium-res versus high-res.
Depends on how complicated your label is. The ones that do the entire disk take about 15 minutes or so. If it's just a label, only a couple of minutes at high-res settings. Tried low res and could barely read it. The lightscribe software for linux only has the simple labels, so they are pretty quick.
