RTFM! Sorry, I've got no idea about your udev problem but I sympathise with your gmail problem, not receiving my own posts annoys the hell out of me. Incidentally, I upgraded my kernel to the vanilla 2.6.17-11 recently to try and get my bcm4306-based wireless card working (with some degree of success) but I didn't upgrade my udev. I haven't noticed any I'll effects yet, is a udev upgrade only necessary for 2.6.18rc kernels?
Cheers,
James.
Thanks... Not sure about the 2.6.18rc. But since udev-085 is giving me problems on the desktop, I just wanted to see if a newer version would work. But when the kind of warnings that they put in the readme I definitely paws ;^) I can't afford to screw up my system....Yet ;^) Once I get the Sierra Aircard 860 running on the desktop then the laptop can go back to being a bleeding edge test system. Up grading the kernel is the next step I guess, I just hate doing that once everything else (vmware, changing serial_cs.c, etc) is set up and working... I usually wait until there is an RPM that is a couple of versions past what I have (e.g. 2.6.18 final rpm). Of well I guess I'll stop whining and do it this weekend... - -- Quis custodiet ipsos custodes ?To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.?
