I recommend Logitech 3000 Pro or 4000 Pro. These use the pwc module which is now included in the kernel and require 0 work. Just plug in and enjoy.
When did that happen? pwc used to require all sorts of black magic, kernel fiddling, sacrificing goats at full moon, etc. and I (for one - I know of others) never did get it to work.
