This is directly relevant to Mr Shanahan's complaint about a test message. If Mr Shanahan cannot tolerate a test message, and wants to raise a complaint, he must also accept responsibility himself for his role in exposing list members to ongoing spam. Then what about the following messages taken from the archives:
http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2006-Mar/1879.html http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2006-Mar/0952.html http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2006-Mar/1037.html These are but three of the many contained in the archives and they are not replies from Patrick. And what makes you think you are the only one one the list getting spam because you belong to the list? I recently changed the address I use solely for this list and the opensuse list because of the amount of spam going to that list. How do you know that a spammer is -not- lurking on the list for the sole purpose of getting email addresses. I'm not trying to defend Patrick, he can do that himself, I'm just tired of having to look at your unfounded rants.
