I guess I should have been more specific. For casual net surfing, I'll use Mozilla with JAVA and JavaScript disabled. But, there are some sites where it might be necessary. For instance, I'm taking night school classes and sometimes I need to interface with the school's server. I might need JAVA or JS for that or other specific sites that I more or less need to trust. I'll keep one default high security browser and one default low security browser. -Joe

But that's not exactly what I meant.
If you are afraid of js in the web, you should not use it anywhere, not mozilla, nor konkeror. Or in other words, it is probably as safe to use mozilla or to use konkeror.
What I meant was to disable javascript in email (only in email), which is something not really needed for anything, and can be really dangerous (I have received spam with js).
Then, whether to leave java enabled in the navigators is another issue.
As to the updates in mozilla, I don't know if they work.
