Hi,
I purchased Suse Linux Professional 9.2 in December '04. I was unable to find a print driver for my Lexmark Optra S 1625 at the time so I rarely used the OS which shares the same box with 2 other operating systems (FreeBSD 5.4 and Windows XP Professional).
Still do not see a driver (PPD) for that model. Does the driver disk/CD have a PPD file, if it does you may be able to use it with cups. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998
Not the correct solution but I remember I had a similar problem with a canon printer many years ago. I managed to get it to work with linux after noticing in the manual that the canon printer emulated an epson printer of the time. Setting the printer to that epson model solved most of the problems. Is there any mention in the printer manual to that effect. There may be a reference on the net somewhere that states it emulates another model. Peter C
