Thanks all for the intriguing Remote Desktop discussion. I hadn't been able to get it working at all previously and now have limited capibility. Thanks to your help out there (I forget who) I can now use VNC to linkt to my SuSE laptop from my XP desktop. I cannot use RDC to connect to my laptop, however. (I can use both VNC:// and RDC:// to connect from my laptop out.) When I start a VNC session from XP, instead of getting my current desktop, it provides me the SuSE KDE login screen. I can login and do stuff, but there are a few wierd things. First, the window says, "nobody's x11 desktop (yoda)" (My machine is called "yoda". Who's "nobody"? Second, the sounds all happen at the laptop (remote) machine and not on my local machine. When I logged in the KdE startup sound played on my laptop. It was a bit bizarre, because the screen saver was running at the time. Will this mess up my settings if I do something wierd while remotely connected then do something from the console?
