When you have the PCI card plugged in, and you've selected it in the BIOS by turning off the on-board graphics, can you then boot into run level 3 OK?
Yes.
I'm assuming you can, cause that's how you're able to try the various SaX2 commands. I just want to be certain... when you've tapped the "3" key at the boot menu while SuSE 9.3 Professional is highlighted, after you do that, you can get into run level 3 OK?
Yes. Then after the screen scrolls many lines of text it asks me to log in. I log in (as user) and then I try to run sax2 -l or sax2 -r. Of course it asks me for the root password. I enter that and then it tries to run (unsuccesfully) sax2. It displays that same error message (re: abort) I've described so many times. I then have to do ctrl/alt/delete to reboot the machine. If instead I enter startx it gives me a "Fatal Error" message and I have to power-down the pooter and start over. Gil
