Do you mean they're going to base YaST on the YUM metadata format or are they
We allow the metadata as additional format to what we currently use,
going to base on the whole YUM? I've tested YUM on Fedora and it was horrible. It updated the repositories just when it wanted (not when I wanted) and it was terribly slow. I even had to wait more than one minute just to make a "yum install something", and if he updated the repositories it took even longer. :( Urpmi would be IMO a much better approach. Anyway, YaST as now is, works fine so why change it?
