Well, if the router can't login to the ISP, then that is the main problem. :-) Couple things come to mind. You possibly need a 'cross-over' cable between the router and the DSL modem. That should be spelled out in the router documenation somewhere. You might also try reseting the ADSL modem before trying the router connection. Reason: I have a wireless rcvr here to my ISP and if I do the same thing you are doing (switching between router and rp-ppoe) I have to power-off the recvr to get it to connect.... a fresh start. Otherwise it apparently thinks is it still connected to the last device used and won't to a new login.
