That's the KMix app. It autoloads into the System tray and if you left click it a master volume control slider appears. You need to run it from the Start Menu, Multimedia, Volume Control, KMix. There isn't an applet for it since SuSE 9.0 or so. If you right click it in the system tray then you have options to open the mixer window and adjust other settings. Stan
