Greetings,
I have a problem with cups and can only find noise on google,
When I reboot, I have to reinstall my canon printer, this happens because a password is required to authenticate on cups, so that the printer can start.
CUPS does not accept any of my local accounts or root account details. Even if I go through my browsers, (Konqueror, firfox, mozilla) (localhost:631)
How does one fix this.
Thanks Chad
Appologies for replying to my own post, If found the answer in the cups documentation, and I must say it does not jump out at you screeming " Me me I the answer to you question!!" ;) I went through the cupsd.conf and noticed that its using digest authentication, i.e. md5 I then read in the cups docs about lppasswd #lppasswd -a username and now you access it through you browser and print manager. Hope this helps someone searching the archs Cheers Chad
