I have a SuSE 9.0 machine we use as a fileserver.
I just tried to add bind (named) to it for name resolution. (caching only).
It shows up in ps, but nslookup can't connect to it.
netstat -an is showing a listen on ::::53.
Very strange, I expected the listen to be on 0:0:0:0:53
Does anyone know what is going on?
FYI: I installed bind via yast and used ftp.suse.com.... as my source.
I also used yast to start the dns server.
Have you modified your resolv.conf to use the ip of this machine? -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge
