9.3 arrived yesterday, and outside of not syncing with my Palm, there's no show stoppers......yet. However, it's obvious that there's still a LOT of work to be done with laptops and wireless!!
I am in hopes someone can help me with this, as it's URGENT. The unit is a Gateway 2.8Ghz with 80GB drive......nice unit that's been running XP Home Edition. 9.3 IS noticeably FASTER by the way. It has a Broadcom BCM4306 80211 b/g wireless chipset and Rioworks BCM4401 100 Bast-T ethernet. Even though 9.3 CAN see the wireless,
What indicates that 9.3 sees the wireless?
I CAN'T auto detect, and of course, there's no selection on the short list for that chipset. The ethernet setup looks good, but I can't get DNS. I had thought if I could get that working, just maybe an update would help get wireless working. Does anyone have any assistance with this........VERY, VERY, VERY important to get wireless working! It COULD lead to a LOT of SUSE installs and business!!
You may need to use ndiswrapper, works quite well and is easy to setup. docs are under /usr/share/doc/packages/ndiswrapper. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998 "The day Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is probably the day they start making vacuum cleaners." -Ernst Jan Plugge
