Thanks for the apt-get suggestion. I have downloaded and installed it
as the site mentions but if I enter:
apt-get install netapplet
using the sources.list from this URL:
http://usr-local-bin.org/rpms/suser-jogley.php
i get an error saying that netapplet not found. apt-get is new to me
and even after spending many hours on it I am unable to tell what I am
supposed to be doing. I have the package gtk2-devel installed but
still get the gtk_stock_dialog_authentication error if I compile.
I would appreciate any help that you can provide.
Thanks again
Ganesh

netapplet.c:931: error: `GTK_STOCK_DIALOG_AUTHENTICATION' undeclared (first use in this function) netapplet.c: In function `populate_popup_menu'
That is defined in gtkstock.h which is part of gtk2-devel
I am using Suse 9.1 Personal With KDE 3.2.1 in case I forgot to add it earlier.
KDE has nothing to do with it, netapplet is written in GTK and uses GNOME libraries, it'll run on KDE, but having KDE makes no difference to building it.
Now I really have no idea as to what to do.
See my previous mail - APT will install all it's dependencies as well.
Once it's installed, you need to also make sure that you start the 'netdaemon' service that it provides. -- James Ogley james@usr-local-bin.org GNOME for SuSE: http://usr-local-bin.org/rpms
