Hi,
I'm now trying to configure my ATI 9600 on my suse 9.1.
I dowloaded the latest driver from ATI site (.rpm) and followed the
instructions on the site itself:
rpm -Uh --force .rpm
and I had this log:
"Tailored kernel module for fglrx not present in your system.
You must go to /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod subdir
and execute './make.sh' to build a fully customed kernel module.
Afterwards go to /lib/modules/fglrx and run './make_install.sh'
in order to install the module into your kernel's module repository.
*** Error: no kernel module build environment - please consult readme."
I didn't find any readme....
So I switched to /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/ and I tried to launch
make.sh but the result I obtained is
"Error:
XFree86 drm includes
at /lib/modules/2.6.5-7.111.5-default/build/include/../drivers/char/drm do
not fit this driver.
This driver is designed to only work with X4.1.0 or higher.
You can match this by getting Linux kernel 2.4.8 or higher."
My XFree version is XFree86 Version 4.3.99.902 (4.4.0 RC 2) and the kernel is
suse 2.6.5-7.111.5
Any suggestion ? (Not to change video card :-) )
Thanks
