I occasionally get email with embedded images (obviously sent by Outlook people). These show up as separate images that must be opened in a viewer, such as gwenview. Is there a way to get KMail to display some graphical content, such as jpegs and gif inline?
Bad idea. Spammers embed 1-pixel images to track who's reading their shite. (Pre)view one of these and you immediatly tell 'm your adres is valid and active.
You're confusing HTML mail, where that tactic can be employed (both with tiny covert images and with plainly visible overt ones) with images included in regular MIME mail. The latter require no interaction with a server during viewing of the message and hence does not expose one to that particular security risk.
You're right of course . In that case, like Dylan said, preventing kmail loading images from external sources would be enough. Theo -- Theo v.
