Try to look for the dosemu.conf file which as I said long ago should be in /opt/dosemu/conf but it might be somewhere else in your setup.
That is where I've always changed the command.

My setup has NOTHING in /opt
. . . all my DOSemu files are in my /home directory

think I had best take a break from dosemu for a while . . . then, maybe do a global installation as root? . . . maybe then the files will be in the right place, and it will be possible to make adjustments in /opt/dosemu/conf
Do you have the 'locate' command installed on your system. (it should be, I think it was installed by default back then) locate *dosemu.conf* should find the file for you.
