It looks like it's "lpoptions -l" that's hanging. Its output is sent to md5sum. Look at line 218 of "/sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.tetex".
I can't help you explain why lpoptions might be hanging.

I've had this problem before. I seem to recall a corrupted or otherwise unusable "/etc/cups/lpoptions" If "locate lpoptions" points you to another file which contains all your printer names (possibly "~/.lpoptions", you could try backing-up the original "/etc/cup/lpoptions" and replacing it with the onefrom your home directory.
