I am running 9.1 on my wife's laptop on a LAN at home, where all the computers are connected to the internet through a firewall running Devil Linux on CD, and we are using the local high speed cable company for internet access. All the other computers in the house are accessing all sites on the internet fine, but hers has suddenly stopped accessing anything but a few sites, such as yahoo and google. For instance, if she tries to download her email, or access our bank's website, or just about any other website, I get a "unknown host" message.

I have checked my network settings on this computer, and they are the same as on my systems that are working fine. Also, this computer was working fine with these settings for about the past 6 months prior to this strange phenomenon.

DHCP or static? What does ´ifstatus eth0´ show; are the correct DHCP, DNS, gateway, client IP addresses showing? If its DHCP is there any change if you do an ´ifdown eth0´ followed by an ´ifup eth0´? Does a ´ping www.yahoo.com´ work? Have you tried a different ethernet cable and/or port on the ethernet switch? Stan
