OK, so cdrecord sees both, so your system must be configured correctly.
All I can think of to ask now is what in K3B makes you think it isn't working? What do you do in k3b to conclude that it can't see your drives?
When trying to burn a cd I get this:

What version of k3b is that? Which kernel version?
In k3b's settings, in the programs, which cdrecord is it set to use? Could it be that you have two installed? Perhaps try "chmod 666 /dev/sg*"
Rapidly running out of ideas, since your system looks perfectly configured Anders K3b is version 0.11.15cvs (Using KDE 3.3.1), it is configured to use cdrecord 2.1a18-dvd I've checked for double install of cdrecord (I only use apt-get to upgrade) but rpm -qa | grep cdr only shows one cdrecord.
It's very frustrating.... Phil
