This is SuSE 9.1 with all the latest updates via YOU. It prevents me from using mu USB floppy drive. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Check /etc/auto.master /media /etc/auto.misc is what mine says. Then check /etc/auto.misc cdrom -fstype=auto,ro :/dev/cdrom dvd -fstype=auto,ro :/dev/dvd
Thanks for the input, but I don't think that applies to my situation -- I think my real problem may be with hotplug, or its interaction with autofs. I looked at a backup of my etc directory (from the time when all was working well) and my auto.master and auto.misc files were empty (except for comments). Also, my cdrom/dvd and regular floppy mount automatically just fine. It is only the usb floppy that gives me problems. Perhaps autofs isn't even needed.
