Hi,
I'm running Suse 9.1. I like to use Kmail as my mail client, however if I try to send an email via SMTP Kmail reports that there was an error and it wont send it.
It doesn't report any more info and the settings are correct, this email has been sent using Mozilla on the same PC and that works fine.
never had problems on earlier versions of Kmail, it's frustrating that it doesn't give any indication as to why it can't send the mail.
I can receive mail no problem, every other fuction works fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Matthew
I wish I was running Linux at the moment, and I could tell you exactly, but there's something in Kmail preferences under sending, if I remember right, regarding SMTP that has to be set to true, or something. Poke around there and see if in't more-or-less obvious. I know for sure it won't send if you don't set this up. The setup should be under >settings>configure Kmail. Instructions are found on pp 258 ff in the 9.1 Professional User Guide. Probably someone using Kmail and SMTP can tell you more, if this is insufficient. --doug
